The primary ingredients—water, citric acid, and sodium citrate—are mineral-based and universally accepted. They act as the solvent, acidity regulator, and electrolyte source. There are no red flags here.

The controversy begins with natural flavor. This is the most ambiguous ingredient on the label. While usually plant-derived, 'natural flavor' can technically contain trace amounts of animal products or be processed using alcohol as a solvent. Without specific disclosure from the manufacturer, it is impossible to guarantee 100% Halal status.

Finally, the artificial sweeteners sucralose and acesulfame potassium, along with the preservative sodium benzoate and dye yellow 6, are chemically synthesized.
