The remaining ingredients are processing aids and anti-caking agents. Calcium silicate and magnesium carbonate are inorganic minerals used to keep the salt free-flowing. They are chemically inert and pose no Kosher concerns. Dextrose is a form of sugar. In the United States, dextrose is almost exclusively derived from corn, which is naturally Kosher. Finally, potassium iodide is added for nutritional purposes (iodized salt) and is a simple mineral salt.

Because this product contains no dairy, meat, or shellfish derivatives, and uses plant-based or mineral-based additives, it fits into the Pareve category. This makes it acceptable for use with any meal, whether meat or dairy.

Regarding the other macronutrients, this product is virtually calorie-free and contains zero fat. The trace amount of dextrose (sugar) is negligible—less than 1 gram per serving—and is added solely to stabilize the iodine and improve taste. It will not impact blood sugar levels or contribute to daily sugar intake. For anyone on a low-sodium or heart-conscious diet, this is a healthy alternative to standard salt.
