While Hershey's generally uses plant-based sources for flavors in this product line, they do not specify the origin. Additionally, the Vegetable Oil blend includes Palm Oil and Shea Oil. While these are plant-derived, some strict Halal observers avoid Palm Oil due to the potential (though rare in US manufacturing) use of animal-based clarifying agents during processing.
