The sweeteners used are standard confectionery ingredients: sugar and corn syrup. Neither poses a halal issue. The fats come from vegetable oil (specifically palm and sunflower oils), which are plant-based and fully halal.

For the creamy texture, the manufacturer uses skim milk. While dairy is halal, strict vegetarians might note this ingredient. However, for halal certification, milk is permitted. The emulsifiers, carrageenan and mono- and diglycerides, are derived from plant sources or synthetic processes in this context, containing no animal enzymes.

Nutritional Value

While the Payday bar is halal, it is calorie-dense. A standard bar contains roughly 240 calories, primarily derived from fat and sugar. The high peanut content contributes significant fat (16g) and protein (7g), but the added sugar and corn syrup drive the carbohydrate count up to 27g.

If you are monitoring your sugar intake, this bar should be eaten in moderation. It provides a quick energy spike but lacks the fiber to slow down digestion. It fits within a standard diet as an occasional treat, but it is not a 'health food' bar.
