While vinegar itself is Halal, some scholars debate the permissibility of vinegar that has been aged in wooden barrels (which may have previously held alcohol), though this is less common in mass-produced dressings. The High Fructose Corn Syrup and Sugar are processed and generally considered Halal in the US.

Nutritional Value

From a nutritional standpoint, Zesty Italian is relatively low in calories per serving, making it a popular choice for salads. However, the High Fructose Corn Syrup and Sugar contribute to the carbohydrate count. It also contains Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) for flavor enhancement, which is generally recognized as safe but can be a sensitivity trigger for some individuals.
